Plus Ultra Gent

Plus Ultra Gent is a new multi-tenant building at the Tech Lane Ghent Science Park, designed by Proof of the sum in collaboration with SVR Architects. With a total surface of approximately 20,700 m², the project provides state-of-the-art infrastructure to strengthen the life sciences ecosystem in Flanders.

The development is composed of two main components. The Accelerator, a seven-storey building of around 15,000 m², offers a balanced mix of laboratories and offices. Shared facilities, such as meeting rooms and a central lunch area, are integrated across several levels around a spacious atrium that encourages interaction and collaboration. Complementing this is the Research Facility, a three-storey wing of 5,000 m², designed to accommodate advanced research activities and production processes.

Plus Ultra Gent is aimed at companies active in Health Tech and Pharma, Agro Tech and Sustainable Food Production, and Sustainable and Circular (Bio)Chemical Processes. With its flexible layouts and a “Lab Ready” approach, the building enables tenants to adapt their spaces quickly to specific research and production requirements.

Sustainability is a key principle in the design. The building aspires to achieve a BREEAM Excellent certification, reflecting its energy-efficient systems, responsible material use and long-term resilience.

Its location within Tech Lane Ghent Science Park is highly strategic. Surrounded by Ghent University campuses and leading research institutes such as VIB, IMEC and Flanders Make, Plus Ultra Gent provides direct access to academic expertise, talent and industrial partners. The park is already home to global innovation leaders, making it one of Europe’s most dynamic knowledge clusters. By combining high-quality infrastructure with a stimulating environment for collaboration, Plus Ultra Gent is more than just a building: it is a hub designed to accelerate innovation, foster partnerships and support the sustainable growth of the life sciences sector in Flanders.
