E|Sports Tech Campus Purmerend De Koog

Proof of the sum is collaborating with the Municipality of Purmerend, Karres en Brands, Arup, Rebel, and Innovative Places on the transformation of the De Koog industrial estate. The ambition is to create a key destination in the (metropolitan) region where businesses, educational institutions, sports organizations, and government join forces to shape an innovative future for sports, economic development, and high-quality education.

While preserving existing business activity, the development vision will create space for 2,500 new homes, aimed at young people, first-time buyers, and students. The area’s many sports facilities won’t be pushed out of the city but will instead form the backbone of the district. The campus will become a dynamic hub for (e-)sports, education, technology, and new employment opportunities.

This development vision was created in close collaboration with local stakeholders and landowners. Through various coalitions and a series of interactive workshops, a development strategy, spatial framework, and guiding principles were established.

At the end of March 2025, the municipal council of Purmerend formally adopted the rules map for the heart of the campus and the E|Sports Tech Campus.
